19th October 2024 (10am – 4pm) at Merlin Centre
This is an invitation for to all persons living with Axial Spondyloarthritis
or Ankylosing Spondylitis, inviting you to attend a Health and Wellbeing
workshop being run by NASS (National Axial Spondyloarthritis Society)
Cornwall.
NASS is the only charity in the UK dedicated to transforming Axial SpA
(AS) care in the UK (NASS.co.uk). They have been working for over 40
years to provide specialist support, advice and up-to-date information.
The NASS Cornwall branch was established in 2023 and provides access
to hydrotherapy for those living with Axial SpA in Cornwall.
NASS Cornwall are hosting their first health and well-being workshop in October
– an opportunity for you to learn more about managing your condition
and get to know others in your Axial SpA community.
The workshop will be a mixture of exercise tasters (tailored for a range of
abilities), along with talks and Q&A sessions. There will be representatives
from NASS, and other organisations covering topics such as medication
and biologic therapy, physiotherapy, massage and exercise. An outline of
events for the day can be seen over the page.
We do hope you’ll be able to join us on Saturday 19th October (10 – 4pm)
at the Merlin Centre (Hewas Water, PL26 7JF). Tea and coffee will be
included in the event cost of £10, along with a full pack of NASS guides
and mood bands. You are also very welcome to bring along one carer,
partner, friend, or family member for an additional £5. Please bring your
own lunch and wear loose fitting comfortable clothing for exercise taster
sessions. Spaces are limited, so please book your place by contacting Dee
(Cornwall@NASS.co.uk).
We look forward to meeting you all and finding ways in which we can
support ourselves and each other here in Cornwall.
Best wishes,
The NASS Cornwall Committee
